The Penny Farthing used to be called "The Jolly Drayman" until it closed in 1975 and reopened as it's present name "The Penny Farthing" in 1976

Timberland used to have Three pubs in it's history, these were;
The Jolly Drayman (now called The Penny Farthing)
The Six bells in Church Lane (now a private dwelling)
Houghton Arms in Main Street (now a private dwelling)
